Jake was born in 1991 to Jay and Kelli in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. From a young age, his parents allowed him to watch the edited-for-TV versions of the "Halloween" films, igniting a deep obsession with Michael Myers and all things related to the franchise. At the age of 11, Jake picked up a guitar for the first time, citing guitarist John 5 as his primary influence. Over the years, he honed his skills, and in 2017, he released his debut instrumental guitar album under the name "The Jake Martin Band". The album was a basement recording with his dad and Tom McGovern on bass, and unfortunately, it never had the chance to see the light of day, but it will soon be available for release on jakemartinwrite.com!

In July of 2022, Jake embarked on a mission to novelize the 1989 horror sequel "Halloween 5". However, the controversy surrounding its initial publication garnered more attention than the book itself. Only a few copies were distributed before Twitter users criticized its release, accusing it of being a case of copyright theft. In response, Jake made the decision to remove the book from circulation.

Nevertheless, the conversation surrounding the book generated significant interest, reaching far beyond the initial audience of the forty or fifty people Jake assumed would read the book. Inspired by this unexpected reception, Jake started reworking the novel. He expanded the story, improved its content, and ensured it was properly edited.

Finally, at midnight CST on July 1st, 2023, Jake released the book online, making it available to readers for free.

Jake is currently immersed in the creation of an original collection of short stories entitled "Empty Stomach", set to be released in July 2024.
